How do I apply for electric service?
- The Membership Application will need to be completed and signed prior to service connection. You can download a Membership Application to fill out now or call the office to request service.
- Application for Service is regulated by the FACT ACT of the Federal Government. The FACT Act is designed to protect individuals’ identities. Complying with the FACT Act determines Northwestern REC’s service application requirements. New members will need to verify positive ID for establishing a membership with the cooperative.
There are three choices available to prospective new members to establish an ID:
- You can come to our office during normal business hours with a government issued photo ID.
- You can provide positive ID to our field personnel such as the installers, or field service engineers when establishing a new service. You will need to be at the location during our working hours on the day of the scheduled meeting/connection.
- You can download an affidavit that you can take to a notary to prove your identity. The completed notarized original affidavit can be mailed to the office along with the signed Membership Application
- Call the office at 1-800-352-0014 to finalize details and arrange for service connection.
