Northwestern REC announces retirement of District 7 Director Marian Davis

During its Aug. 28, 2026, meeting, the Northwestern Rural Electric Cooperative Board of Directors unanimously voted to accept the resignation of longtime member and nine-year director Marian Davis.

Davis first joined the board of directors in 2017, succeeding her husband, Bob, who served for many years before her. A 57-year member of Northwestern REC, Davis is also active in the community, volunteering to serve on boards, clubs, committees and other community organizations. Before retiring from her professional career, Davis owned and operated several restaurants in Meadville and Franklin; she also served as a rural mail carrier.

Please join the board of directors, management team and employees of Northwestern REC in thanking Davis for her decade of service. While we will miss her dedication to serving our members and her quick wit, we wish her well as she refocuses on spending time with her family.

Davis was last elected during the 90th Annual Meeting earlier this year. The board of directors is seeking nominees for appointment to finish the three-year term left vacant by Davis’ retirement. In accordance with the cooperative’s bylaws and Policy 216.00, the remaining board members will serve as the nominating committee.

A nomination meeting will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2026, at the cooperative headquarters, 22534 State Highway 86, Cambridge Springs, PA 16403. This will be a business meeting only, with no presentation, refreshments or gifts. Any member of the cooperative may attend and nominate any member who resides in District 7. The board asks anyone nominating a District 7 member to bring a copy of the nominee’s resume to the meeting. Nominees will then be interviewed and must submit to a background check, per the bylaws.
